Persuasion is an insightful story of family, status and love set in turbulent regency times where war was an ever present threat and society was on the cusp of change. Austen’s Persuasion still translates to modern times, as a strong moral core combines with biting satire and a poignant perception of the human condition.
There are a number of roles for both men and women of all ages. A number of smaller roles may be doubled. In total we expect to cast between 15–20 actors.

Sunday, July 23rd at 2.00pm in the Crypt Room of Hampstead Parish Church Tuesday, July 25th at 7.30pm in the Hampstead Parish Church (Enter by the door up on the steps on the South side, ring the bell if the door is locked). The read-through is planned for Friday 1st September and rehearsals will then usually take place on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 7.30pm.
Please note that you do not need to be a member of ‘The Hampstead Players’ to audition but you must join before you can take role in our productions. You must be a member at the first read through (you can pay on the night) or you will not be able to perform.
Our subscriptions are very modest. £15.00 full members, £10.00 concessions, £25.00 family.
