Anyone auditioning for the parts of Eliza or Alfred Doolittle should bring along their best cockney accent. This line from the play phonetically describes how you should sound:
Eliza: Ow, eez, ya-ooa san, is e? Wal, fewd dan y’ d-ooty bawmz a mather should, eed now bettern to spawl a pore gel’s flahrzn than ran away athaht pahyn.
(Oh, he’s your son, is he? Well, if you had done your duty by him, as a mother should, he’d know better than to spoil a poor girl’s flowers then run away without paying.)If you cannot manage either of these dates but really want to audition please contact Hoda 07931365533
Please note that you do not need to be a member of ‘The Hampstead Players’ to audition but you must join before you can take role in our productions. You must be a member at the first read through (you can pay on the night) or you will not be able to perform.
